Not Your Grandma's Bathroom!

Bathrooms and kitchens are so big on being designed and remodeled, they have their own industry and organizations that are all about kitchens and baths.

Here are some amazing bathrooms that caught my eye and made me hate my
bathroom even more. . .

Copper tub. Yes please!

Thought that this was a really unique design for the shower glass enclosures.

Beautiful console table that could be used in a bathroom as a vanity or dressing table. I like the "old" look mirror.

NOTE: A soaking tub is probably on any girl's dream list, but it's not just something you can stick in your bathroom as a DIY project. They are heavy if they're empty and get even heavier when full of water and a person inside. Keep wishing for it, just make sure to take safety precautions and check load weights for your flooring and sub floor!

First Blog Entry

So I'm firstly creating this blog because I have an interview next week and they've asked me bring a blog entry of mine!  Let's be honest, I've always wanted to blog just never had the time.  Now that it's summer and I'm currently looking for work, I have some time on my hands.  Seeing all these beautiful, amazing designs and pieces of furniture or color schemes is very inspiring to me and now I'll be able to share it!

A little about myself since eventually more people than my mom will be looking at this!  I'm 25 years old and I live in an apartment in the East Bay with my husband and my dog.  We've lived in studios, 1 bedrooms, our parents' houses, and now a 2 bedroom.  Needless to say, I've had quite a bit of experience rearranging furniture, getting new things to tie everything together and making what we had work!

For my last semester (Fall 2011!!) I will need an internship, but ideally I'll already be working at a firm.  If not, I'd like to intern at a firm to get a foot in the door, see how firms actually work (sometimes I think my teachers are a little out of touch), and get some real experience.

Be a design assistant, then a designer, maybe make a firm change once or twice and retire.  When I retire, I want to be a librarian at a firm.  I love samples and I can't ever see myself wanting out of the design world.

Anyway, enjoy!
